Background Pic not showing in Layout Page

Top  Previous  Next

When I add a background picture in Furnish by clicking File/Background picture, the picture does appear, but the next time I load the arrangement I must add it again. Also, the background picture does not show up in either the Virtual Reality or the Layout Page module. What am I doing wrong?

There are two ways of displaying a background picture in the Furnish module:

-- If you load any design and then click File/Background Picture, you can add a background picture temporarily. This is useful if you just want to design against an image but do not want it to appear as part of the final design.

-- When you start a new plan, one of the options is to build a plan based upon a background picture that you specify. In this case, PartyCAD builds the appropriately sized plan and marks it as having an associated background picture. Because the plan is the exact size of the background picture, PartyCAD then knows how to display both in the VR and Layout Page modules.

If you have already started a design with a temporary background picture, here is how to switch over to a permanent one:

1. Return to the Main Menu and restart the Furnish module

2. Click New to start a new plan, then click the big button at the bottom-Make a Plan to Match a Background Picture and select the picture you have already set up, or set up a new one. Either way, you will end by clicking Use Picture, the Furnish screen will then appear and the background picture will be displayed.

3. If you have already made a design that you would like to load onto this background picture, click File/ Load Arrangement and load it now. You may have to group all the pieces and slide them around to match the permanent version of the picture, but often this is not necessary.

4. Use Furnish in normal fashion and save your design. The background picture will load automatically when you next load the design in Furnish. The picture will also show up in the VR, and Layout Page modules when you set it up in this way.
