Making a Standard Form Page

Top  Previous  Next

How can I make a  page that contains my logo, company name and other standard information that can use as the starting point for creating new pages in the Layout Page module?

If you use the Party Wizard, this is taken care of automatically, however if you prefer to create your own pages from scratch, you will want to create what is called a Standard Form Page. Here is how to do that:

1. Scan your logo and save it as a bitmap (.bmp) file into PartyCAD's Data folder under the name: LOGO.BMP  On most systems, the full path name of this file will then be:

C:\PartyCAD\Data\LOGO.BMP

Do be very careful to save the file in .bmp format, not in .jpg format, otherwise PartyCAD will be greatly confused.

2. Run PartyCAD and use the Project Select button to switch to the Global Data project. All Standard Form Pages must be created in this project.

3. From the Main Menu, run Layout A Page and load either the BASELAND (landscape) or BASEPORT (portrait) base page.

4. If your logo does not appear automatically, delete the balloons logo, click the Load a Part button, click the Load a Bitmap, Painting or Metafile option button, and load your LOGO onto the page.

5. Fiddle with the page until you are happy with it as a starting page, then save it under a name that begins with the letters FORM (for instance, FORMHANK)

That's it. You can now return to the Main Menu, switch to another project, and click Layout a Page. In the page selection menu that appears, click the Load a standard form page option and you will see the page you have just created as one of the choices. Double-click this to load it, and you are ready to continue with the creation of  the page.
