Adding a new tent size to the Party Wizard

How can I add a new size tent to the Party Wizard?

Although the Party Wizard comes with many, many standard tent sizes, still you may have a tent that is not listed. Here is how you can create a tent of any size:

Suppose we wanted to make a 25' x 85' tent party using the Party Wizard:

1. Click the Party Wizard button at the upper right of the Main Menu and select a tent that is close to the size you desire. For our example, you might select a 20x40 tent. Doing this will result in a finished page that requires little tweaking, but in truth you can select any tent from the list.

2. Continue with the Party Wizard as though the tent was perfectly correct. Eventually you will click Create Party and PartyCAD will create a party based upon the tent size you have selected. At this point you will be looking at the page for the party in the Layout Page module.

3. Right-click the plan of the party at the lower left of the page. This will take you to the Furnish module.

4. Click Options/ Resize plan and change the size of the lot that the tent will sit on to be 25' deep and 85' wide -- the same size as the tent. If your party involves more than one tent, you might enter 100' x 100' as the lot size, the key bit of knowledge being that the lot size should be big enough to encompass the entire design of the party. Here we are only designing a single tent, and so the lot size will be the same as the tent size.

5. When you click Return, you will come back to the Furnish module and the lot size will have been changed. Next, go to the Tent Wizard and change the dimensions of the stock tent (20X60 in our example) to the desired tent size. When you have done this, click Load as a Changed Tent into Furnish and the new tent will replace the old one.

6. Now use standard PartyCAD techniques that you learned by watching the Quick Start videos to move the tent and the furnishings into position on the lot. When you are through, click the Return button. The art relating to the party will now be updated and then you will be back at the page for the party. Tweak this as needed and then print it. At this point all the magic is over and you can use standard techniques to fine tune your design.

7. Save the page as PARTY and return to the Main Menu. If you are ever likely to see this tent again, you can save yourself some work by adding it to the Party Wizard now. To do this, simple click the Party Wizard button, and then the text at the bottom left of the first wizard screen that reads, Add Current Project to the Party Wizard.

Really, in all of the above, the only thing you might not figure out for yourself is the idea of resizing the plan by using Option/ Resize plan in Furnish.
