Automatic Counts

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The Design Editor automatically keeps track of the number of chairs and pipe & drape booths in your design. The counts (if any) for these items are displayed in the Title Bar at the top of the menu. These change automatically as you work on your design.

The counts are based on the names of the pieces in the design, and you can take advantage of this fact to name any pieces you create in such a way as to have their chair and booth counts reflect accurately in the overall counts.

Here are the rules that PartyCAD uses in counting:

For chairs:

#RT# --- with piece names that start with a number and contain the letters RT immediately followed by a second number, the number of chairs is presumed to be the second number. This takes care of all the common table/chair combinations such as 6RT8C (6 foot round table with 8 chairs).

#BANQ# --- with piece names that start with a number and contain the letters BANQ immediately followed by a second number, the number of chairs is presumed to be the second number. This takes care of many common banquet tables such as 6BANQ8 (6 foot banquet table with 8 chairs).

#CHAIRS --- with piece names that start with a number and contain the letters CHAIRS, the number of chairs is presumed to be the number. Thus the piece 10CHAIRS will be counted as containing 10 chairs.

CC# --- with piece names that contain the letters CC (Chair Count) followed by a number, the number of chairs is presumed to be the number following CC. Thus, if you named a piece HANKCC7XYZ, that piece would be presumed to have 7 chairs.

  Hardcoded --- the following library pieces are presumed to have the number of chairs shown in parens --- CARDF4 (4), 8CONF4 (4), CHAIR (1), FOLD1 (1), FOLD2 (1), DCHAIR (1), BANQ8 (8), 6BANQ (6)

All other --- any piece that does not meet the above criteria is presumed to contain no chairs.

For booths:

BC# --- with piece names that contain the letters BC (Booth Count) followed by a number, the number of booths is presumed to be the number following BC. Thus, if you named a piece XBC7CC8X, that piece would be presumed to have 7 booths. Because the name also contains the letters CC, it would also be presumed to have 8 chairs as described above.

  Hardcoded --- the following library pieces are presumed to have the number of booths shown in parens --- B88H (2), B88HX (2), B6H (2), B6HX (2), B8H (2), B8HX (2), B10H (2), B10HX (2), B88 (1), B88X (1), B6 (1), B6X (1), B8 (1), B8X (1), B10 (1), B10X (1).

All other --- any piece that does not meet above criteria is considered to contain no booths.
