Adding a scale to a page

Top  Previous  Next

In layout mode you have an option to add a scale when using a standard form. The scale option is not available when you start with a blank form. Is there a way to add a scale if you choose to start with a blank form?

You can add a scale to any page in Layout Page that contains a plan created in Make Plan or an arrangement created with the Furnish module.

Start by creating your page and loading the plan or arrangement for which you wish to add a scale. You should next size this to suit before adding the drawn scale. You may also wish to complete the page design by adding other elements such as pictures and text.

When you are ready, click on the arrangement or plan of interest to select it as the current part and click the Load a Part button at the top left of the Layout Page main screen. In the list of available options, select the Load a Scale radio button, and select a scale from the list that appears. SCALE30 is a 30 foot scale, SCALE10M is a 10 meter scale. Now click the Load button and the scale will be loaded onto your page, where it can be positioned to suit.

The Load a Scale option will only appear in the Load a Part list if you have selected a plan or arrangement. This is because perspective drawings to not have a uniform scale, and it would be silly to add a scale to text.
