Stages and Dance Floors

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Even though there are quite a few stages and dance floors in the PartyCAD libraries, it is unlikely that you will find everything you might want here, however it is very easy to create any dance floor or stage by using either the Fill or the Drawing command in the Design Editor.

Filling a Stage or Dance Floor

1. Load one square of the desired type. Often times people load a BOX and resizing this to be 4'x4' and the desired height... a height of 1" is often used for dance floors, 2' or whatever for stages. Color the piece appropriately.

2. Position the piece at the upper-left corner of the area where the stage or dance floor is to appear.

3. Use Fill to replicate the piece and generate the desired finished dance floor or stage.

4. Use Group Pieces to group the elements of the piece to make it easy to move and rotate the finished dance floor or stage.

Drawing a Stage or Dance Floor

1. Use Draw to draw the outline of the stage or dance floor.

2. Save the drawing as a 3D piece... what you want to do is save an extruded shape, where the amount of the extrusion is the height of the finished stage.

Watch the Making Furniture videos to master these techniques if they are new to you.
